Welcome

Thank you for booking a newborn session! I am thrilled to capture this precious time for your growing family. My goal is to document these fleeting moments—the tiny toes, baby rolls, and all the emotions. I hope these images become cherished memories for you.

Below is some information to help you plan and know what to expect.

What to expect …

First and foremost, I want you to feel relaxed and enjoy the session. We will capture beautiful images whether your baby is sleeping or awake. I love a documentary style, which means less posing and fewer props, focusing instead on natural moments. Your job is to snuggle your baby and enjoy; I'll handle the rest.

Planning …

Think about the spaces in your home with the best natural light, such as the nursery, bedroom, or living room. It's not necessary to clean, but reducing clutter can help minimize distractions in the photos.

Consider outfits for the session. Neutrals and soft colors work best for a harmonious look. Avoid bold patterns and logos. For newborns, well-fitting clothes are ideal and since babies are often that might be a little red/orange I recommend avoiding red. Pink is okay - I think a lighter pink is better. For moms, choose something comfortable yet flattering like a tunic and leggings, jeans, or a maxi dress. The same simplicity applies to siblings, with barefoot or slippers being perfect for a cozy, homey feel.

Day of …

Feed your baby right before I arrive to ensure they are content. Dress them in the outfit you want photographed, with a bib on to avoid spills. We can plan on an outfit change but that can often be disruptive to a happy baby. Sometimes the most stressful part of a newborn shoot is the toddler. If you have older siblings, we can start with their photos first or let them take a break until they are ready. Patience is key, and we'll take breaks as needed to keep everyone happy and comfortable - and fed!

I looking forward to capturing these special moments for you!
