What to expect at your family session…

My goal is to capture you as a family, the connections, the interactions, the dynamics, the true essence of your children’s personality - all of it.

My best advice: Have fun! Try to make it an adventure, be silly and playful, hug each other, snuggle, ruffle the little ones hair. Don’t worry about whether or not your children are looking at the camera - the best photographs are often the ones where everyone is engaged or interacting with each other instead. Some kids love being in front of the camera while others want to be held the whole time. Don’t worry we will make it all work and will get many shots.

Session times vary… Usually around 30 minutes but could be shorter or a little longer depending on location and how the littles do. Not matter how long, I will make sure we have a fully gallery. I find it helpful if you plan to arrive a few minutes early to show your kids around to the new surroundings - let them explore. Once the sessions begins I will help with some posing but also allow some to happen naturally as you snuggle and play with your family.

What to wear …

Go with your style. If you like to get dressed up - go for it. If you prefer more casual - go with the jeans. Be comfortable as you want to be able to move around. Choose coordinating colors (but not necessarily matching). Choose neutral, muted colors or jewel colors add textures (sweaters) and I love how flowing fabrics photograph. Creams, oatmeal or tans, grays all combined look really nice.  Feel free to add an accent color and layers or accessories - scarfs, vests, fun earrings, headbands or bows. Patterns are good - smaller generally photograph better. Avoid logos or sayings. Start with one outfit and build from there. For toddlers something that you won’t have to be adjusting too much - straps that fall or dresses.
